Did anyone attend, from AGS?
I'm curious whether it was well-covered by the "media."
Also interested in knowing whether Coach Cos was there from Maine, and if so, what players (if any) he had with him.
What were some of the hot topics of discussion?
C'mon, y'all, I'm dying for info out here! xeekx xeekx

Decided not to go because I couldn't get a hold of anyone at ESPN Zone on the phone that could tell me if the public was welcome. I didn't feel like driving an hour to find out I was going to be having lunch by myself. :p

ESPN1300 here in Baltimore did a remote broadcast. But besides interviewing the CAA president, Towson players (Schaefer and Bradford) and HC Gordy Combs, the Nova and W&M HCs I didn't hear anything about Maine. They still did their local sports talk show, but mixed in with CAA interviews. I would assume all teams were represented, what with the SWAC-Texas Southern uproar.
I haven't looked in the papers for coverage, I'll check later and get back.

All 12 league coaches attended the Media Day event, along with several players.
An hour long TV special was recorded yesterday, which will air on 9/18 at 8pm and again on 9/25 at 9pm on CN8.

Can't speak for the RTD site. It's a decent paper but their website is horribly cluttered.
Through Google's New Alerts, I get all of the news links for CAA teams sent to me.

Believe it or not, but the CAA is the smallest fish in this lake down here. Sad, but true.

The RTD online version does not match the print version. There's more in the actual printed paper.

Actually, not true if you're talking about D-I conferences. The MEAC and America East struggle for the 'smallest fish' title in the Balt. area. At least CSNet Mid Atlantic covers CAA sports somewhat.

xnonono2x The CAA is far better than the A10 ever was, plain and simple. It may not be what you want for Maine, but it IS a world better than what we had. I don't want to see Maine, UNH, UMass.... go, but if this is how you're going to act, I can't wait for the AE. xcoolx
BTW, Richmond is in Virginia, Baltimore is in Maryland about three hours up I-95. Baltimore is where the Media Day was held.

Coach Cosgrove has some very interesting thing to say about CCA Football and Maine's future in it.

UMass centric...but another point of view...
"The successes of 2006 have made the Minutemen a hot commodity for television in 2007. UMass leads a record-setting television package for the CAA, with 31 games to be aired, the largest package among the Football Championship Subdivision conferences.
More than half of the UMass games will be on television, four on Comcast's CN8, a fifth on Time Warner TV and one to be determined.
The Sept. 8 game at Colgate will be on Time Warner. The following week UMass will host Towson on CN8, the beginning of four straight weeks on television. The Sept. 22 game at Maine will be on CN8, followed by the Sept. 29 game at Boston College, which will likely be aired on one of the ESPN channels."
So maybe Jeff doesn't speak for UMass, they don't seem displeased and they are an A10 school.

Hmmm, seems like Cosgrove thinks it's Maine who needs to step up, not that the conference that isn't doing their part. Perhaps Jeff doesn't even speak for Maine either. xlolx

He's implied on several occassions that he spoke for all NE affiliates and non all-sport members.
