Wilford Blowe has been dismissed from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football program, Mocs coach Rodney Allison said Monday at the Southern Conference Rouser. Blowe, a former Hixson High School star, would have been a senior on the field this fall -- likely as a starter. Allison declined to say why Blowe was no longer a Moc, but he said it was not a legal matter. ...

Blowe is a home town boy that unfortunately has always struggled academically (he wasn't in spring practice) and needed to take and pass a set number of hours in summer school to stay eligible...it didn't happen...and he has no redshirt option left, so his playing career is over (though I am told he will still be in school this fall).

Blowe was one of the last from the "highly talented, but academically questionable" UC recruiting classes (shakes head in frustration).

Not sure why this warranted a full thread on here...does every academic casualty in FCS get a post on here?
