Inspiring story about a UAlbany incoming freshman with one hand and severe diabetes. Good off-season reading.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
"He makes tackles with one hand because that's all he has, and he controls his diabetes through an insulin pump he wears in his football girdle.
Eddie Delaney, a freshman-to-be at the University at Albany, never had it easy, and it promises to get even tougher in the months ahead.
Beginning Sept. 1, when UAlbany's football season kicks off at Colgate, Delaney will suit up for the Great Danes -- provided he doesn't redshirt -- marking the beginning of a unique chapter in the school's football history...."
