Today we continue our Alumni Spotlight series with former Hatter Mauricio Ruiz '05. Ruiz is currently in his seventh season as the men's head coach at ASUN Conference rival Jacksonville. In 2016, Ruiz led the Dolphins to their first ASUN championship in eight years. Following graduation, Ruiz played for the Orlando Sharks of the Major Indoor Soccer League, playing 27 out of 30 games and recording seven goals and four assists as a rookie. A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ruiz and his wife, Milena, have a son, Maddox.
