I'm a huge Raiders fan, and I was so stoked to see Shot come to Oakland. Here's a nice article about Kyle:

That's awesome! Good luck to Kyle in camp and through the exhibition. I hope he gets a spot.

From what he tells me, he has a pretty good shot at making it...His postion coach loves him and loves his speed and effort

Hadn't seen him play in person...so a couple of months back I pulled all the vid I could find on him. Loved his read and near robotic exploiting of gaps/sacks. Definitely pro material...and not just as a scout. He's one of those LB's that's a real joy to watch play.
Really glad Oakland picked him up. Hope he does well in camp.xthumbsupx

It would have been nice if they had mentioned the fact that Kyle Shotwell had won the Buchanan Award.

I think Shotwell has a good chance to stick with the Raiders. An interesting tidbit: Shotwell's dad played at Cal in nearby Berkeley in the late 1970s.

Even if Kyle doesn't make the team outright, he can be placed on the practiced squad and get paid over $4,100 per week....That's not Vick or Peyton money, but not bad for a recent college grad, who's playing a kids game.

And, once he gets his foot in the door, his size and speed won't matter much -- just how he fares on the field will matter xnodx

Shot has been very realistic I think. From his quotes, he sees his best way of contributing and being on the roster for 2007 through special teams. With his nose for the ball, size, speed and ability to tackle, I think he's got the right idea for how he can make an impact for the Raiders this season.

The Raiders recently placed former Harvard lineback Isiaah Kacyevenski (sp?) on Injured reserve....While that is terrible news for the 7 year veteran, that opens the door a bit for Shotwell.

Goin' to the Raiders game tomorruh, can't wait to see Shot in action (listed as 3rd OLB depth chart)! Go Raiders!

side note: Former Aggie OT Elliot Vallejo will be playing for the Cardinals. Double whammy for the Great West xnodx

Shot looked great, he's very quick out there, directly to the ball, running around the big boys no problem.
