Jackson St (Deion) and NDSU are currently on the front page of ESPN.com right now also... I guess there is a benefit to playing in the wasteland of sports that mid-February is:

Deion Sanders and Jackson State primed to open their Season sunday (https://theundefeated.com/features/deion-sanders-and-jackson-state-primed-to-open-their-season-sunday/?addata=espn:frontpage)

The ultimate FCS spring football preview (Insider required) (https://www.espn.com/college-football/insider/story/_/id/30924510/fcs-spring-college-football-preview-games-teams-storylines-watch)

It’s a once-in-a-lifetime spotlight for a league with a knack for producing surprisingly good players and surprisingly good football.

Sure would be nice to have FCS lay in the spring all the time....and NOT share the spotlight with the FBS!

I'll take my fall football and share the spotlight with FBS 99 years out of 100. Trying to enjoy the spring as much as I can -- great for FCS seniors across the country who get to play on last season for their schools. Not to mention the guys looking to boost their draft stock and continue to add to the legacy of I-AA/FCS in the pro ranks.

Sounds good in theory but I think you'd suffocate the subdivision in the process. First, you wouldn't have access to the FBS money games that many FCS schools depend on for revenue. Second, your best players wouldn't play their final season because they'd declare for the draft making them ineligible (it would also hurt their draft prospects that they'd miss putting their final and likely best season on film for scouts). Third, unpredictable weather has already disrupted several games and many schools do not have the indoor facilities to practice in late January/early February. Inadequate practice time is a hazard to player health as well as having a detrimental effect on the product on the field.

Bingo on all of the above. Also, I don't think it really benefits FCS to be the college version of the USFL/XFL/AFL/AAF/XFL 2.0.
