The University of North Dakota softball team was selected sixth for the 2021 season after a vote of the league's seven head coaches in the annual preseason poll as announced by the league on Tuesday. North Dakota State, the six-time defending Summit League champion, has once again been tabbed as the preseason favorite and will be vying for their ninth overall regular season crown after claiming the 2019 title with a league mark of 16-2.
