Is New Orleans doing a football feasibility study? Doubtful.

I am sure that would be pretty significant news within the Southland and in Louisiana if they were.

UTRGV has already completed a feasibility study though their AD acknowledges they may need to re-evaluate it and update it based on the new information surrounding the WAC which means there's plenty of bus trips in an established league vs. what they may have been operating under previously and of course, in light of the commitment from the football schools in the WAC to evaluate FBS as a conference in the next year or so.

They have done at least two, most recently during their very brief foray down to Division II.

When Puerto Rico becomes the 51st State * will they be the only state without any form of college football?

Alaska.

But the Barrow HS Whalers have an artificial turf field right by the Arctic Ocean.

Oct 2020 post on Privateer Island board referenced third hand info via The Athletic. Quote attributed to former Times-Pucayune sports writer Jeff Duncan, claiming "there's even a plan to conduct a feasibility study for football (at UNO)." Maybe the writer's head was spinning from the studies that had already been done.

I wouldn't call what occurred there at the time as a football feasibility study. They were not engaged with a consultant at the time surrounding the idea of football, so certainly would not call it that.

The previous (and perhaps the only) feasibility study of the modern era surrounded non-scholarship football perhaps around 2000 or late 1990s?

The folks at Privateer Island may have more information on this. I seem to recall it was 1999 or so, and involved a lease of Tad Gormley Stadium.

Wichita State did a feasibility study about 5 years ago when they were transitioning from from the MVC to the AAC.

Study: Bringing football back to Wichita State could cost tens of millions (kwch.com) (https://www.kwch.com/content/news/Wichita-State-receives-shares-consultants-study-on-football-384595961.html)

I realize that football was considered only as a desperate ploy to get Wichita State into the AAC. When they were accepted without football, they tamped down the feasibility talk.

Nevertheless, they should seriously consider bringing football back. I don't think the conference can depend on Navy's football's affiliation forever. The conference's Big East origins might eventually slip away.

Seems natural for the AAC to continue to evolve - if that's the right word - into a who's who of the Missouri Valley Conference, c. 1959-1968. Shocker football would be the the final piece.

Been looking at that picture

no where to hide from the wind and it looks cold, I had to sit off Point Barrow Alaska for about six weeks one time and it was no fun

Finally got ashore and after one look at the local ladies it was right back to the boat

in fact, it’s probably the local girls school they are playing against

Just before COVID, WSU had received approval to tear down 30,000 seat Cessna Stadium, which has been largely vacant since 1986. Any news if this actually took place?

Is that the actual location of the field?

Will they have Navy Seals waiting in the water to return incomplete sideline passes?

Looks like this is a lake, with the ocean on the other side of the road.

Have you ever watched "Dudes Night Out" from the Chappelle Show with Schlipp's Beer? Be careful what you wish for.
