Its ok we rested some players this weekend and still have a 10 game lead in the division.
And record wise we're still the best team in baseball.
And congratulations to Jeff Bailey who collected his first ML hit today, a 7th inning HR and the Red Sox bullpen sucesfully bargained for the ball back from a fan out in LF.

If the Red Sox continue to leave dozens of men on base and J.D. Drew and Julio Lugo continue to expose Theo Epstein as an over-rated GM, they're in trouble
1) J. D. Drew = Solid Right Field - zero for season with men in scoring position
2) Julio Lugo = Errors (and a lot of 'em) and at bat: weak in the clutch
3) Coco Crisp = Fantastic outfield - and at bat: inconsistent at best
4) Manny = Checked out after world series MVP nomination
other than that the Sox are doing great... xnodx

1) J. D. Drew = Solid Right Field - zero for season with men in scoring position (Hes too good to play like this all year, Think of how good this team wsa the first half... now think how good they will be when WHEN Drew, ORtiz and Manny finally come alive this summer.)
2) Julio Lugo = Errors (and a lot of 'em) and at bat: weak in the clutch (We knew the glove was gonna suck, and hopefully today was his turnaround with the bat.)
3) Coco Crisp = Fantastic outfield - and at bat: inconsistent at best (Keep hitting Coco, keep playing Gold Glove caliber CF, your just raising your value when we trade your ass this winter to make room for Jacoby Ellsbury)
4) Manny = Checked out after world series MVP nomination (Hes too good to not explode in the second half. Also playing Baltimore and Tampa 26 times over the final 2 1/2 months will help a lot xlolx xlolx )
other than that the Sox are doing great... xnodx
My thoughts added in bold :D

I hope you're right...
Q: Can J.D. Drew really be that bad..? he's been amazingly crappy...
Q: Can Manny muster one more run...?
Q: Can Julio hit as promised..?
if all come true it's in the bag...

It was a good series to rest players, Ordonez, the American League's Leading hitter, and I-Rod, American League All-Star Starting Catcher, got some rest on Sunday.

The good news is they won't see the Tigers until October again.

Having played 1 more game, the Red Sox are 1/2 game ahead of Detroit, the team that just swept them under the carpet. ;)
........and now Detroit has won the season series 4-3 vs the Red Sox this year.
