Paul Quinn, an HBCU in Texas, that has found it's way on a few FCS schedules in recent years (most notably PVA&M) is cutting their football squad.
That's bad news, but even worse is that the school does not meet standards in finances and other areas, therefore it's accreditation is on probation, which will be reviewed in another year...
Under Mr. Sorrell, Paul Quinn has announced other changes, such as eliminating the football team and on-campus summer classes to save money.

I always hate to see news like this. Hopefully they'll be able to turn things around and re-start their program eventually.

Not surprising, considering this was one of the worst college porgrams at any level in America.

Looks like they're facing the same fate as Morris Brown. xnonono2x Hopefully the AME Church can get behind the school like they have done with Edward Waters College.

This happened to Upsala College in East Orange, NJ which had a good small-college DII/DIII FB program for many years when the finances of the school went south. The whole school wound up going out of business in 1995.

So is Paul Quinn going to drop all sports? Is the school gonna close too?

The school is still alive and I guess they are reducing several sports.

I still think that it's never good for a school to drop any sport.

I don't think the school will close. They just have to work hard to clean up the mess that's made. It's going to take a concerted effort by the 10th Episcopal district of the AME church to place funds into the school, like the 11th Episcopal District did for Edward Waters.

The NAIA will only have 89 football playing members, 3 affiliate. That isn't many, more will probably leave for D-II in the future and they are lucky that D-III is going to put a cap on membership or even more would go.

Not sure whether the school will close, but according to the website, one of the changes coming this fall is a reduction of available majors:
