I don't think any of us could keep up with SFA with all the three star FBS transfers SFA took in this off-season. Waste of time IMO. xcoffeex xlolx

Exactly. The only team that MIGHT have a chance to slow down that arsenal of 3 and 4 star transfers is the Bison. But it's a long shot.

Indiana RB (Morgan Ellison) and he's very much still here -- extreme talent. And yes, we added Jahmon McClendon from UCLA. Gives us two 230-240 lbs power backs to go with a couple of smaller scatback types. We're loaded at the skill positions.

You may be thinking of the other Indiana RB we had the last 2 yrs, Devonte Williams -- he graduated. But we got the guy who beat him out at Indiana and caused him to transfer here. Now Ellison is here -- he rushed for over 700 yards as a true freshman in the Big Ten.

Yeah, Devonte was a smaller, in-space runner, and receiver out of the backfield. Ellison is 6-1, 230, and a true power back who seeks contact; but has bounce to his game and speed to house it from anywhere — a special talent, especially in he Southland Conference. The kid from UCLA (McClendon) is about 240-245 and more of a power, between-the-tackles, guy. We have two others who will play a lot — Taron Jones and Marcus Cooper. There's only one football but it'll sort itself out.

We'll play two QBs. Cole Kelley will start but we'll see a lot of Cephus Johnson.

The Bearkats will be starting Jr. QB Eric Schmid. Lafayette QB Keegan Shoemaker, who was supposed to transfer to SHSU, is not on the roster or in the transfer portal. Curious what happened with that.

No! We should be last! After all the players we lost from the 2019 season from graduation, just quitting football, and through the transfer portal, we are lucky we can even field a team. I hope we can find some DB's somewhere. ;)

I think this season could be our best chance since playing in the natty. We have a top 10 FCS defense returning a bunch of starters. We have an experienced (but injury-prone) QB in Schmid...but now a legit alternative in Lafayette transfer QB Keegan Shoemaker. We have a deep, if not exceptional group of RBs and WRs. Our O-line is big and experienced. I like our chances. I just hope we get to play.

McNeese just released their attendance restrictions for football, baseball, softball, and the other sports that will be going on in the spring. For football, they are going to only let 3100 people in or only 25% of capacity. So, after the both the teams' pass lists and the students, that is not going to leave too many seats for the regular fans especially the boosters. And those tickets, I hear, won't be reserved seats but only first come first serve.
