Why the hell not in this f'd up year I guess. I'm going ot have to push the dates listed in the other thread by a few days it appears anyway so...
One of the two is set in The Lounge category. All other categories are set as well. We have a 3 way tie for the 2nd spot in this category however between these 3 posters:
Dewey
POD Knows
Panther88
So we'll do a quick poll vote to see who grabs it. This will shut off on Wednesday, 01/13/2021.

There are rules to this cyber-game we play. Good luck, man.
Dewey is right there because of his pure sincerity. Definitely one of my fav'd posters and one I simply cannot talk badly towards, ever.

Dewey is right there because of his pure sincerity. Definitely one of my fav'd posters and one I simply cannot talk badly towards, ever.Dude, this is the lounge, I have met Dewey, good guy, kind of a choir boy but I get the sense he is depraved, I love guys that live a double life, Vote for Dewey, the Deliberate Stanger and soft core porn poster. I do have reservations because he failed to live up to his promises from a previous campaign but I have pretty much given up an people doing what they say they are going to do.
P88, this is lounge where the fittest survive, this isn't a place for meek, the sweet, the sincere, you ever meet a sincere guy in a lounge. The lounge is the place for the lizards, the snakes, the deviates, the depraved, the false prophets, the dirt at the bottom of the well worn heel. Dewey can't survive here, too decent, too truthful, too good for those of us that prowl this landscape.

DeweyThe lounges you must frequent must be filled with ferns, napkins and fresh toilet paper, the lounge I live in and the AGS lounge has vomit in the corners, backed up toilets, well used blow up dolls, Playboy mags from the 70's and 80's with the pages stuck together, two kinds of whiskey, both cheap as ****, a pool table that needs to be leveled, maybe cold beer depending on the day of the week, health inspections from 10 years ago because the government is afraid to enter the place, a freaking juke box in the corner with actual 45's, 911 on speed dial, well used ash trays, smoking allowed and encouraged, boxes of cheap watches, rings, and possession pawned for a drink by the desperate and the lost, cheap frozen pizza's with the expiration dates removed from the labels, a loaded gun and a claw hammer at the ready, and a mysterious black ooze that drains to the lowest part of the building that nobody can identify, empty condom dispensers and the freedom to piss in the alley when the ****ters are full

Hey mother****er, I ain't paying you to stand around here talking about the place. Put down the pickled pig's feet and grab some Ice in a 5 gallon bucket and go fill the urinals back up.
Change the damn fly strip too. There isn't room for another fly unless he wants to try and and play fly strip twister at this point. This time don't hang it directly over the warm Maraschino Cherries either.

I blended a couple places I know real well into this rant. One of the places is in Ames, IA. The black ooze reference is real and it exists and is awesome as hell. I forgot to include the mice feces present on the top of the beer cans and the real sense of danger that resulted from asking for a clean one.

Holy crap, you and I frequent the same places, the jar with with gizzards and hearts, abandoned, longing to be purchased, fly paper with nary a spot to succumb, Maraschino Cherries, last ordered and served to a heavily made up women, yearning to be younger and whose name I have since forgotten, ice meant for the urinals, brown even before it hits the porcelain, the bottle of scotch, with a seal broken 10 odd years ago by the last decent customer in the place, a 12 pack of Grain Belt, still positioned in the cooler in a place of honor for the last patron that understood the splendor of the product, R.I.P., mousetraps, robbed of their bait and rusty from age, Polaroid pictures of customers from a bygone era, old, faded, seemingly out of place, Slim Jim's, crusty and dry but oddly good tasting.

Yep, similarities to many haunts. Peanut shells on the floor were forgotten on your description as well as the fact that the bar owner seems to be a big fan of of old Brian Bosworth because all cold storage seems to be set at the glory days temperature setting of 44...degrees Fahrenheit.

After I left NDSU I went back to La Crosse Wisc. After getting back I found out from my Mom that my dad and his girlfriend had bought a a bar. Damn near everything you mentioned was there. To add to your list Dillcukes, Salmon Sharpies, Pork rinds that had the small packs of hot sauce included, pickled hamhocks,
some type of hot sausage, BEERNUTS, The Little Nut Hut hot nut dispenser., red herrings. Down stairs there were bottles and bottles of ****ty booze like lemon, lime and orange vodka, Rock and Rye, Peach Brandy , Pear Brandy that had the pears in the bottle. Old Crow, some type of scotch I had never heard of before and a bunch of those decorative Jim Beam decanters all with the seals broken.

The Red Dog Saloon in Juneau Alaska had sawdust floors, but I hear it’s a tourist trap now
Early 80s Walked in to find my Chief sitting at the bar in a peaceful drunken stupor, He had a long string of snot hanging out of his nose all the way down to the bar..... and nobody gave a ****.

I've lived a pretty sheltered life but the wildest place that I've been to was the Bird House in Alaska. It was 1994 and I was there for the Great Alaskan Shootout that the Gophers won. Our bus stopped there one afternoon and it was nuts. It had a split level from an earthquake. You had to bend over to get into the bar area because the ceiling was so low. All kinds of articles of clothing on the wall. It burned down later.

Spot on. With 20/20 hindsight there are some things I would have done, and even a few that I wouldn't have. But I've been lucky- amazingly lucky- to have survived and have countless number of people helping me along the way. There are even people on here who have been a great help for me. I was at the Red Dog Saloon a couple of years ago and it is definitely a tourist trap now, at least during cruise ship season. Off season it is a bit better but still not what it was. There are a couple of places in Juneau still though that are a bit rough around the edges (pretty much like the bar POD/Ursus described above).
