I assume the good news part is this: The conference Monday also announced distribution commitments for more than 75 local cable systems serving viewers in the eight states in which there are Big Ten schools. because this is old news about the games being on there.

I do too. Was just curious if we'd be getting this offering as I do want to see Appalachian State versus Michigan...

Sounds like a good deal, but I'm not big on Big 10(11) football.

The Mountain West did this last year and it was a total disaster. The idea being to televise more games but in reality less games were shown... unless you are BYU where everything was shown. That and crappy announcers. Can you say Todd Christensen?

Can you say marketing ploy to make the Big 10 schools and cable systems richer????xrolleyesx xnonono2x
I know the marketing director of our local cable system that serves more than 15000 people. When I asked him about getting the Big 10 Network on the system he replied, "Way to expensive and the programming sucks!" It would have raised the monthly cable bill for each subscriber by at least $3.00/month and probably much more. When you have the larger providers, you don't have much of a choice unless you switch to satellite and not get the sports packages. There are enough that want it and those that don't may put up a stink for a while but eventually will take it up the poop-chute xbawlingx like every other excessive bill increase that get thrust upon them.
Not to mention he was also able to see the scheduled programming and said there wasn't much in the way of anything worth watching unless you're a die-hard, get your rocks off kind of fan of the Big 10. I mean seriously, who in Iowa (in this case) wants to watch the game pitting Northeastern against Northwestern? Now there's a barn-burner everyone should be interested in (no offense to Northeastern fans xpeacex ).xthumbsupx
