LEXINGTON, Va. - The VMI basketball team will greet the new calendar year of 2021 Saturday afternoon when it faces Chattanooga Saturday at Cameron Hall. Tipoff is set for 1 pm. The Keydets-Mocs contest marks the first VMI home game since December 15 and will open a January slate that will see five scheduled games at Cameron Hall. VMI will be looking to snap a three-game skid Saturday after dropping three December road games including an 84-71 setback at Samford Wednesday night in the SoCon opener for both teams. Chattanooga will also be seeking its first conference win after falling short at home against Furman Wednesday afternoon, 77-73. The VMI-Chattanooga game will feature the top two most proficient free throw shooting teams in the SoCon with VMI converting at an 81.6% success rate from the stripe and Chattanooga at 77.1%.
