I guess he's trying to revive his beach music career :)

Seems like a decent guy. He won't butcher any of our limited televised basketball games anymore so that's a plus for us.

My first thought too.
This will mean Coastal will have good records since Coach Ellis has never been accused of playing a tough schedule anywhere he's been.
I also expect some teal sweater vests which will be quite fashionable I'm sure.

Yeah I mean he only played in the ACC and SEC and some how figured out how to win both of those leagues with dreg basketball schools. He even got Auburn to #1 in the nation at one point. Good hire guys as long as he is serious about the job and not just going to Myrtle to semi- retire and do it part time.

No doubt he played in tough conferences but I assume that he was referring to the fact that his OOC schedules are typically easier than Montana's OOC football schedule this yearxsmiley_wix

Exactly. I do not dispute that Cliff Ellis can coach, I just was pointing out his universal appreciation for a good cupcake when it comes to OOC play. Coach Ellis will get his 20 wins with room to spare.

Well he also may be in for the full 5 years too...the buyout clause is for 1.5 million....not many colleges want to pay that and a salary to get a coach. As for the OOC schedule...07-08 is already made for him....and being that we play in the Big South...I imagine he will try and get a few tougher games with the OOC since the Big South isn't a powerhouse conference like the ACC or SEC.
