In the Canadian Football League, former ASU standouts Wayne Smith and Richie Williams are set to begin their seasons this weekend. Smith's Saskatchewan Roughriders visit the Montreal Alouettes on Friday and Williams' Hamilton TigerCats open the 2007 campaign on Saturday at the Calgary Stampeders.

Another former Appalachian State player, safety Jeremy Wiggins, will make his pro debut on Saturday night for the Boise Burn when they play at home against the Tri-Cities Fever in ArenaFootball 2.

Former Appalachian State Kicker Erik Rockhold just finished his second straight season kicking for the Reading Express of the AIFA indoor football league. He's led the league in kicker scoring each year and has won numerous awards.
