Despite uncertainty about the status of football for the remainder of 2020, it appears that Jackson State is moving on from head coach John Hendrick.

Why the move now? It seems this was something they had to have thought of after the end of last season so why wait until September? Other than possibly saving a few bucks on the payroll by terminating his salary but that doesn't make much sense as they'll probably hire a new coach within a week or two anyways. Even if Deion took the position he's not staying more than 2 years before looking to move on to a FBS school.

Why would Prime Time want to move from a high-profile NFL studio job to an FCS coaching position?

There is only one logical explanation and that would be that he really CARES about improving young (primarily but not exclusively black) lives. An individual of Sanders' visibility working to improve things would be much more effective than refusing to play a game or two.
