Will be interesting if more do this as well.

Another state is moving high school football to the spring and it's a big one. The Illinois High School Association announced Wednesday that all of its sports will be altered to four shortened seasons (fall, winter, spring and summer) with football beginning in the spring.

Illinois is the sixth state, joining California, Nevada, New Mexico, Virginia and Washington, to shift the fall football season to 2021. The District of Columbia has done the same.

A lot of football players also do baseball or track in the spring. Will be interesting what they choose

A couple systems in Alabama have cancelled fall sports and another has cancelled sports for the entire 2020-21 school year.

I’ve seen some talk about pushing spring sports into summer so they don’t interfere with football. Track is probably going to get shafted by either football or baseball regardless of where it ends up. I loved track but I wouldn’t of done it over football, I’d imagine most kids feel the same way these days as well.

MN HS football is now spring.

Local football coach says it will be a joke up here in the northern part of that state. Snow and cold is still here in March. Starting date? Fight the elements.

PA keeps moving the start date back (now early October). I won't be surprised to see a move to spring as well. Flu season on top of this can be a nightmare.

Where HS football is being played- and where it isn't this fall.

I know there’s quite a few Minnesota players who transferred to SD schools to play football in the fall. Brookings got a really good RB from Stewartville I believe, Jacob Buri is his name. Guy is a monster.
I know my alma mater had a family from Tennessee move into the area for the year to play sports as well.

Minnesota either should have had fall football or moved spring sports to the fall. The spring sport kids lost their season last year and now it will be cut into in the spring. The Minnesota amateur baseball season went great- finished up last weekend.

That map looks strangely political to me but we will leave it with sports here. I'm glad that football is going well in the surrounding states.

Colorado gives schools and districts two options: fall or spring.
