UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA, Va. -- The Richmond Spiders have been recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) as one of the nation's top academic teams. The Spiders were one of just 59 schools in Division I to receive Presidents Special Recognition from the group when it announced its team academic award winners last week, an honor reserved for schools with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Richmond posted a team GPA of 3.71 during the 2019-20 school year.
