Coach Harris (http://imdb.com/name/nm0000422/): You know, when you were a baby in your crib, your father looked down at you, he had but one hope - some day my son will grow to be a man. Well look at you now. You just got your asses whipped by a bunch of goddamn nerds.
[shouts]
Coach Harris (http://imdb.com/name/nm0000422/): Nerds! Well, if I was you, I'd do something about it. I would get up and redeem myself in the eyes of my father, my maker, and my coach!

Good is the enemy of best.
I also love the "You're always getting better or worse, you can't stay the same."

When Bo Schembechler first got to Michigan in the summer of '69 he implemented a much tougher practice regimine & was much more of a disciplinarian than the prior coach. A lot of the players quit during the summer practices. Bo had a banner made up that read "Those Who Stay Will Be Champions" Later that year Michigan beat #1 Ohio St. to win the Big 10 title.

I voted "other." I have an inspirational running quote framed, something about running to become what I'm meant to be. It's good, even if I can't remember it. It's packed away in a box.
"Today I give my all for Appalachian State" is on the wall at ASU's fieldhouse. I guess that one's a little too narrow for general use.

and then lost 10-3 to USC in the Rose Bowl ironically. Turns out the sign was wrong as none of Bo's players won a national championship, which is the only real championship

He's going to be good. There's a pretty good chance he'd have been starting at ND this fall if he stayed.

A conference title, with set guidelines and rules, seems more real to me than any title bestowed by a poll, don't you think? xthumbsupx

Skip: You guys. You lollygag the ball around the infield. You lollygag your way down to first. You lollygag in and out of the dugout. You know what that makes you? Larry!
Larry: Lollygaggers!
