Big Ten Network is still considered an "upstart" network, meaning it will take time to secure contracts with all the major pay-tv providers. Even then it will probably be left off some cable & satellite line-ups.

The only issue is that when severe weather hits my area (and it does a LOT in the summer), I want to be able to see on TV where it is and if I need to take shelter. I live on the 3rd floor of an apartment building with a LOT of glass windows and no real storm shelter, so basically it's the only concern of mine.

For instance, a few nights ago at like 3am, There was a tornado spotted just 30 miles or so SW of Fargo, and the cell was moving towards the city. The cell eventually missed Fargo, but if a tornado was in the area, my satellite would be out, and I would have no idea where the storm is.

You won't have a problem if it's installed correctly. Tornado alley is (and always has been) a hot region for people switching from cable to satellite.

I know Mediacom didn't pick up ESPNU until they were willing to put it on the digital sports tier(and hawkeye fans complained because they wanted the Iowa-Montana game).

This happens a lot. When the KC Royals launched their own network, they demanded that DISH Network put it in their basic tier. As you can imagine, DISH was relunctant to broadcast Royal games nationally.

I have DirecTV in Fargo and the reception being knocked out by bad weather is a minimal problem. It happens maybe 4-5 times a year for about 10-15 minutes at a time, only when it rains really hard. It seldom rains that hard for that long. A minor inconvenience that a lot of times I'm not even watching when it happens. In seven years of service I have yet to lose my reception during a football or hockey game.

Four games are set to be shown at the same time on Sep. 1st.

Hopefully Direct TV will put on all the games in their overflow 600 channels.

Being a D2 fan, I have gotten used to the fact that I will have to go to Sportsbars or Buffalo Wild Wings to catch some of the games that I want to watch. It really isn't that bad
