Yes and no.
When its raining out and the TowsonCenter isnot being used, the football team goes half pads and practices there. Its a rubberized multipurpose flooring.

I say no because I have the feeling that the question is about an indoor turf facility.

LOL You went to far. In near future we will have one. I think we should have one and build it in the field where we practice at. Chop the little trees down and put it right there. The area is big enough, and when the football season kicks off. I am going to ask the board members or the athletic director. That could be a big plus as far as recruiting.

Outside of bad rain storms we really don't need one. That money could go into putting lights on the practice field and other additions to the stadium.

There are lots of things that could be used to recruiting. In my opinion and in reality su should concentrate of the fieldhouse being completed before anything else is done.

As for UNC, we don't really need any. We just completed new field turf on our outdoor practice fields. The weather in Colorado during the fall and spring is usually mild.

He has a good point. An indoor facility is the least of SU's worries. Have they even started working on the fieldhouse? xconfusedx

We got a 19,000-seat indoor practice facility.:D

Although the team only uses it for maybe 20-25 percent of the practices. Usually during the season, Monday night practices are at the Dome, while all others are at the outdoor practice fields. We used to use the ancient remains of old Dacotah Field as a Monday night practice place, but I guess I was told recently that the team does not go there anymore.

We don't have an indoor facility specifically for football. We have field turf on our field so, aside from lightning, we can use that under any condition. If need be, I guess we could use the brand new Tolsma Indoor Track Center but that wouldn't really be necessary. If it's storming too bad, we can just do our weight lifting because our weight room is large enough to have our entire team doing weights and basic cardio at the same time.

Trivia time for anyone who can answer it:

What is missing in this picture? (Hint: It gets over 100 degrees outside, so inside a $2 million metal shed made to look like a practice facility you need one or more of these...xconfusedx )

Yes, sort of..Rauch Field house is okay for certain drills and running through plays, but with no turf surface, they really can't scrimmage. Still it's a lot better than what most schools have.

OK. No they have not started yet, but everything else is. They want to start everything before football season, and it appears it will happen. Like I said, they are now adding and renovating the concession stands and bathrooms on both sides of the stadium and I'm not mad at them. THEY BETTER NOT FOOL AROUND THIS TIME BUT IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN THIS TIME xnodx Dorm rooms are also being built. In a little while the Sports Complex and Baseball Complex will start.

They better get a move on then. It was far from it last week. Of course there's not much that's time consuming in finishing a metal building. Slapping in the windows and doors and the other wall once the turf is down.

Just had the ribbon cutting for the new Assembly Center. ICON Assembly Center (http://www.gramblingstateuniversity.com/gym.htm) New Dorms will be complete by August. Just broke ground on a new fine arts/music building. ICON Fine Arts Building (http://www.gram.edu/news/052407.asp) All of the high-rise dorms will be gone soon. ICON New Dorms (http://www.gram.edu/tiger%20village/camera3.asp) More bleachers added to the soccer and softball fields. construction, construction, construction.

They better get a move on then. Of course it shouldn't take long to slap windows and doors in a metal building and put up the other wall once the turf is down. It didn't take very long to reinstall the whole field football field in Field Turf.
We shouldn't need it much in August except for a few T storms.
