We had a boy at our school who was going to transfer because we didn't offer cross country. Coaches sat down with administration and found out that losing him would cost us thousands of dollars compared to having someone to coach him and take him to meets. As it turned out we had a number of other students who then went out for the sport. Crunch the numbers first.
