It dawned on me when looking at RMU's future schedules that Big South teams will have have 8 conference games and just 3 non-conference games available starting in 2021. Obviously that was not known a few years ago when most team were booking opponents, so quite a few previous contracted non-conference games will have to be rescheduled or cancelled.

For example, Monmouth has reported 5 FCS teams (no FBS) on the schedule in 2021. Campbell, KSU, and UNA all have 4 non-conference games scheduled in 2021 and no room in 2022.

Here's a quick summary of a few 2021 and 2022 non-conference games (as of today) using FBSchedules.com as a source:

I kinda like Monmouth 2021 Non-Conf schedule. However, If I were to drop two, i'm losing Lafayette and HC. Fordham up the in Bronx on the 20th anniversary of 9/11 should be a great atmosphere. I love to see old NEC rivals on the schedule in CCSU and we need to have a better showing vs. Princeton after being embarrassed last time out.

Pretty sure it's not a big deal. While the conf may have enough for 8 games, that doesn't equate to it must play 8 games. I am almost sure this issue was handled in negotiations for joining. But there might be a couple OOC cancellations anyway. Especially for series that haven't started yet.
