Meyer wins Player of Week prize

Cologne Centurions quarterback Erik Meyer has been named NFL Europa Offensive Player of Week 9 following his game-winning display against the Amsterdam Admirals last weekend.

Meyer completed 21 of 29 passes for 287 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions during Cologne's 31-13 victory. That performance was good enough for the Eastern Washington product to post a quarterback rating of 138.1.

With one week of the 2007 regular season remaining, Meyer ranks second among NFLE quarterbacks with a passer rating of 100.6. He has completed a league-best 67.3 percent (115 of 171) of his passes for 1,384 yards, 12 touchdowns and six interceptions. Meyer has also added 125 rushing yards and one touchdown.
Rhein Fire linebacker Jamar Enzor has won Defensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts during his team's 24-17 road victory over the Berlin Thunder.

Enzor recorded eight tackles and moved the Fire into a second quarter lead it would not relinquish when he returned an interception seven yards to the end zone. It marked the second time this season Enzor has scored on an interception return as he also found the end zone on a 65-yard runback against Frankfurt in Week 5.

Having joined the Fire in Week 5, Enzor has recorded 23 tackles, two interceptions for 72 yards and two touchdowns, one sack and two blocked punts.

Japanese wide receiver Noriaki Kino****a has been named Special Teams Player of the Week after he scored on an 86-yard punt return for the Amsterdam Admirals at Cologne. Kino****a ended the day having returned two punts for 114 yards, two kickoff returns for 60 yards and caught two passes for 39 yards.

The native of Osaka, Japan, leads NFL Europa with nine punt returns for 173 yards (19.2 average) and one touchdown. He ranks fourth with 23 kickoff returns for 542 yards (23.6 average) and has added 21 receptions for 308 yards and two touchdowns.

Belgian defensive tackle Patrice Majondo-Mwamba, also of the Amsterdam Admirals, picks up his second National Player of the Week award of the season after recording eight tackles and one sack at Cologne.

The former Denver Broncos practice squad player has recorded a career-high 24 tackles and two sacks in 2007.
