Chris Wakley, HC of Lacrosse at Lehigh for past 6 years has resigned due to his ongoing battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Symptoms have progressed to where they're becoming a problem especially in light of the aggravating features of coaching lacrosse. He will remain with the University in a capacity yet to be determined. National search for successor starts immediately.
Wakley is a good guy and has brought the program forward in a very competitive conference. While Lehigh hasn't made it 'to the next level' yet in terms of making NCAA playoffs, he's made them a competitive program that has beaten a fair number of nationally ranked teams over the years. This will be a great opportunity for someone looking to take a rising program---maybe they can entice the former Duke HC...;)
