Gian Villante, who's been on every preseason All-America team, is out for the year with a knee injury.

Tough blow for the Pride, who if they could absorb an injury anywhere it wasn't on defense.

Man, I don't wish that on anyone. Tough break for the team. Somebody was saying a couple weeks ago that IF Hofstra could find a D they could be good this year. I of course reminded them that was the oldest and most repeated story in the A10.
