So the Yale men and Princeton women, the regular season champs, will advance.

Just like the old days. Although, I don't understand how they can justify sending them to the tournament.

Well, if they are sincere and things don't get better, they won't. Otherwise, what was the point?

Exactly! I have to think they'll make a decision before selection Sunday otherwise it's going to create another huge mess. Honestly, if their administrations are that scared just say their season is over. I highly doubt a few days is going to end the nonsense.

From what I understand, the decision on whether to go to the NCAA tournament is up to the schools themselves and not a league decision like the Ivy tournament

Any word on Yale's stance on the matter?

Not yet. My guess is Yale and Princeton will make a joint decision by Friday.

It looks like spring football practice is being cancelled, but I haven't seen anything about the ECAC hockey playoffs. Yale, Harvard, and Cornell are all still scheduled to play this weekend.

Cornell just sent out word that fans will not be permitted at this weekend's ECAC Quarterfinal series, or at the women's NCAA Quarterfinal series.

RPI did the same for their series against Harvard. I think Quinnipiac and Clarkson are the other hosts and will probably follow suit.

Congrats to Yale, I guess.
I heard on the radio that Harvard is going to be conducting classes online for awhile.

What a novel idea, leaving it up to the schools to see if they want to compete

I certainly hope those two abstained from the league decision to cancel the conference tournament.
Talk about a conflict of interest...

They need to suspend all sports if they're that scared. Can't pick and choose imo....

The ECAC hockey tournament quarterfinals, with 4 Ivy teams involved, are going to be played in empty arenas. I wonder why that wasn't an option in basketball?

I don't know. Seemed like the most "logical" compromise imo.....
Penn coach Steve Donahue did not appear to be happy when spoke about the topic situation.

Nope. Most of my Ivy friends drive modest Ford, GM, or Honda SUVs. They leave the BMWs and Benzes to you entitled Southern silver-spooners.

According to posters on the Ivy basketball Board, it was Harvard saying that it did not want to take the risk of hosting the tourmanet. Because it's Harvard, and because it's hard to have a tournament if your host venue doesn't want to do it, the rest of the league went along...
