Well said.
I know with Colgate, there are those who really believe that the 2003 season, as magical as it was, was the only real success Colgate ever had in football and that Branch, Graham, Lukabu et al. were the only great players who ever took the field in Hamilton. Nothing could be further from the truth, but memories fade sometimes, and some people live in flat-out denial that the past could ever have been as good. At the same time, no one can live in the past - college football and life always march on.

You can go to the games, and support your team. It's a social thing. But when you want to know about players from years past, that's more of a personal thing. If you didn't live through it, then you have to go back and learn it. And for 99.9% of sports fans out there, it's just not worth it to them. Ignorance is bliss, after all. In a world where people at Youngstown State somehow think we play in Division II or MCM or whatever it is that they think, I wouldn't expect anything less.
