The University of North Dakota softball team played to a Friday split on the opening day of action in the San Diego Classic. The Fighting Hawks (5-11) dropped the opener, 4-3, in a battle with CSUN before exploding for seven runs in a 7-4 victory over Brown to snap a four-game losing streak.
