Anyone else on here follow the MLS?

25th season kicks off tomorrow!

I am excited for a full season of Bruce Arena, hopes are high here in New England. Revs kick off the season @ 3 up in Montreal!

I'm told that the Minnesota Loons stadium is great. I've driven past there on my way to Concordia-St Paul for Mav football but I haven't been there myself.

From what I have seen of the place, it looks very nice! Revs are still without a soccer specific stadium, but have at least invested in a top notch practice facility. Maybe someday they will get their own stadium...but I won't hold my breath over it.

I have not followed it closely (soccer offseason stuff completely confuses me), but it would appear from everything I read that Atlanta is (are?) the team to beat in the East.

Atlanta is very good and one of the top teams expected in the east. Per the current Power Rankings, they are 4th overall, 2nd in the East.

Come on you boys in blue! xbowx

NYCFC looking good so far. Returns nearly everyone from last year, already advanced a round in CCL. Big games with Tigres in March.

Now about that stadium...

Nashville's first goal is a Furman kid - Walker Zimmerman

Revs disappoint in the season opener falling to Montreal 2-1. Based on pre-season talk and the amount of injuries Montreal was to have had plus them having played 2 games in the CCL already it really was a bad showing for the Revs. I was expecting 3 points Saturday - would have been fine with a tie, but a loss. Yikes.

Time to bounce back with the home opener Saturday against the Chicago Fire.

MNUFC has an amazing stadium. Extremely loud too. I try to go to about 3 home games a year and I'd be shocked if this team did not finish in the top 5 overall. Too many options and with their new #9 Amarilla up top, this should be a team that is finally going to get some hardware.

Dont hate it unless you've tried it. My stepdad is the most anti-soccer person you could ever meet and by the end of the game, he was cheering, screaming, and wearing a Swansea top. (I only have one MMUFC top but about 8 Swansea tops). It doesn't hurt that we was drinking consistently though, but we had actually planned to go to another game this summer, just him and I, until this all broke out.

https://www.mlssoccer.com/mls-is-back-tournamentThis is how they win. Be the first major "North American" league back (sans NASCAR, which has gone downhill since stage racing, and golf) and people will watch just to get a fix. Their ratings as a league and profitability have been steadily climbing as of the last few years, but do not be surprised if they over take NHL and MLB in the next 5 years as a top 3 league to watch on TV.

By being the first one back, people will choose a team and even if they can get 1/4 of the new viewers to stick around, they hit a gold mine. Having games run in the morning as well as evening allows different groups of people to catch their games.

I did try it once. It was about as much fun as watching the Kramnick-Leko match of 2004.
