Is this something that needs to go away for the Ivies to progress athletics-wise? xchinscratchx

I think the BB teams should not play in any kind of post season play, because obviously these people can't handle school work and athletic tournaments at the same time.

Again, I tell people that the purpose of most students is to successfully get their education. Why are schools penalizing students for doing exactly that? Graduates can't play once they graduate? Why can't they if they have followed all of the rules. Makes no sense to me. Of course, the elephant in the room is not allowing football to participate for another week in the playoffs, but how do you argue with a block of stone?

This is one of the rare occasions when football is treated somewhat better than the other sports. Many football players are granted a 5th year of eligibility because because of injury. Of course, being the Ivy League, they have to withdraw from school for a semester in the spring and postpone their graduation.

Also, Robin Harris is a complete waste as league director.

Sounds pretty bad. I think it was Minnesota that had one grad transfer starter who was only a redshirt sophomore (graduated from Michigan in 2 years I think) and another who was on track to graduate in under 3 years from Minn. Two kids who can definitely play the game but also get it done in the classroom. How do you not want to promote that kind of behavior? I know the BS games that various Ivy programs have played in the past but once a kid graduates, he/she should be allowed to go anywhere they want, even within the conference.

Of course it would. It would also be in the best interest of the student-athlete. But the Ivies have proved that the student-athlete isnt their major concern. (https://es.pn/2SgkqqN)
