Roger Clemens, the Saviour of the Yankees season, has been scratched from his first scheduled start.

Hmm. I actually think since the Yankees haven't activated Clemens yet he isn't officially on their major league roster. This means he is still on a minor league contract and shouldn't be getting paid the big bucks yet. I could be wrong though...anybody know for sure?

Is anyone really surprised? Yankees are finally reaping what they sow. That is one expensive scratch from the starting line up.

He is not on the Major League roster yet. As stated above, he is still on the minor league contract which is no where near the pro-rated $28 million.

The starting pitching hasn't been the problem recently. Its been freak injuries and the middle relievers (Villone, Farnsworth, Vizcaino) and declining hitters (Abreu and Giambi) that Cashman assembled who stink.
Clemens isn't the solution to the problems with the Yanks. He can help a bit with sparing the bullpen and hopefully adding one of the young arms to middle relief.
