This sounds like a "B" league and would be nothing more than a secondary league such as the AFL, CFL, etc.

This is basically a rival developmental league to NFL Europe here in the US. They would basically be wanting to have all the NFL Europe stars, top CFL and AFL talent, and then the rookies and low round draft picks who get cut.

Sounds interesting though. Better than CFL and AFL if it uses the right dimensions. Better than NFL Europe if it's played in some cities without NFL franchises that really want to support a pro team.

I think its more than developmental, less than competitive. From what I read, I think their thought is they can pay Round 3 and later guys a premium over the NFL money they would get, since there is a big dropoff in pay after rounds 1 and 2.

Could be very interesting.

I don't think it will work. Of course, stranger things have happened.

I don't think this'll work at all if you ask me, just look at the last few leagues that try to compete against the NFL:

USFL
AFL (American Football League, later merged)
XFL

That's just some, they failed big time. I don't think the one Cuban has in mind would be any different.

When is this league supposed to play? If it is during NFL season, no way it can compete. Even if it is during the same time as the Arena Football League, it will be fighting an uphill battle, especially now that AFL games are on ESPN.
