Calgary thinks Nealy is an intriguing prospect. I'd be curious to see what they use Nealy for. I think being placed at wide receiver was not the best option for him as far as his career goes. Best of luck, Nealy...

(Calgary) - The Calgary Stampeder have signed free agent quarterback Barrick Nealy, defensive back Adrian Ward and receiver David Bautista.

Nealy joined the Stampeders practice roster in the middle of the 2006 season. Before joining the Red and White he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Minnesota Vikings.

''Nealy is a tall very athletic quarterback that was signed by the Vikings as a Wide Receiver,'' said General Manager Jim Barker. ''His athleticism makes him a very intriguing prospect.''

Interesting read on what got Nealy hooked on Calgary and what brought him back to the Stampeders...

All it took for Barrick Nealy to buy into the Calgary Stampeders was a sold out Labour Day crowd.

The lanky quarterback was brought in a week before the marquee regular-season game last year and stood on the sidelines for Calgary's whipping of the Edmonton Eskimos.

He soaked in the atmosphere, getting chills as Henry Burris did a front flip for a crucial touchdown.

He did. He left Calgary during the fall and they told him they would have a roster spot for him when he came back. He graduated in May from Texas State and went back up to Calgary. I saw him on campus numerous times this semester, so I know he was here.

I believe he got married also.

Here is an article from The Star about it.

"(Calgary) wants me to come back next spring and compete for the starting job, Nealy said. I just have to make a decision as far as my professional career goes. There are a lot of other things I want to do here in San Marcos. I just have to make a decision."

Oh well, I didn't see that. Man, that sucks if he didn't get his degree. I know the school planned on retiring his number if he graduated.
