It's the law in Minnesota to wear a life preserver on a jet-ski.
Neither Hill nor the woman wore a life preserver, Atkeson said.

That sucks. Hope they find him ok. But to jet-ski without a life preserver is stupid.

Especially in Lake Pontchartrain, it a pretty big lake.

hard to believe he would go out like that. would that be against his contract? would his league life insurance still pay out?

Sadly, so many pro athletes think they are invincible and do thise kind of stuff. I guess it just goes with pushing the envelope the way they do on the field.
It's such an incredible waste, but hopefully the NFL (and other pro leagues and college too) can turn this terrible tragedy into a learning example for others.

Hill and a young woman were riding a personal watercraft Sunday in the lake when both of them went into the water, which had a strong current.

WTF? A lake that has a "current"?

Lake Pontchartrain is gargantuan--yes it has currents, just like the Great Lakes have currents. While LP is nowhere near the size of any of the Great Lakes, it is still a huge body of water. I'm sure one of our Cajun brothers can give us more details...xreadx

It is really not a true lake - it is a large estuary. It is salt water, and experiences some tidal flows.

Well, if that's the case then, it never ceases to amaze me that people are that stupid. WTF did he think was going to happen if he fell off? xeyebrowx xeyebrowx xeyebrowx xeyebrowx
