The Easton Area High School girls' track team won the 3A State Championship yesteday. The really good story about this achievement was the sacrifice star runner Chanelle Price made for the good of the team. She is the #1 ranked 800m runner in the US, but also ranked in top 10 nationally in the 400 and 1600 as well. Rather than go for what would have been assured individual gold medals in the 400 and 1600, she ran the anchor legs in the 1600 and 3200 relays thereby clinching the team title, edging out Methacton HS by 2pts. Only a junior, Price said the seniors had helped her so much over the years, she wanted them to be able to leave with state gold medals that had always eluded them. A real neat story.
Keep an eye on this girl--she'll be running in the Nike Championships this summer and as of this year, had run the third fastest time for any high school girl in US history. Mary Decker being one of the two faster.

congratulations... something tells me you may have a vested interest in this team... just a hunch

Not really. Just proud of our hometown kids achieving a significant goal with a star athlete sacrificing her individual goals for the good of her team. Both my kids went to EAHS and there is a strong sense of school pride, which is unusual for a school of such size (2800 students, grades 9-12).
