Saw this on SDSUFans. Apparently St. Cloud has dropped football and added Men’s Soccer. Effectively they dropped a sport the Summit doesn’t have and added one it does need...

They've lost 4k students in like 2 years.
They've come out and said budget it a major issue
Do you think they could fund a D1 department?

I know next to nothing about their school or athletic department. It’s possible they’ll attempt it.

Agreed 100%. They don't have the money for that move.

Its a commuter school that is technically in the M state system rather than the UofM......but there is no shot at D1 athletics there outside of hockey.

I have several friends who used to be Husky boosters, one an officer in the fan clubs. They merged the clubs into one for the socialist cry of "benefit for all" which means for hockey first. They were even talking about dropping baseball, which is one of their most successful programs. They have lost thousands of students, donations are down, and they had to drop football to address the Title IX issues that they had ignored.
No, there would be an uprising if they announced a D1 for all sports move. They don't have the money or the interest.

Hell - I don't want SCSU in the NCHC much less TSL.
