I wonder if he actually would of stayed with Carolina for one more year?

I wonder if he will actually make more money working for ESPN than he would have playing this season in the NFL?

I think thats guarenteed!
He seemed so excited at the draft about mentoring his boy from USC too. I feel bad for him after he laid all that out. He had his ego issues, but when it came to game time, there are fewer guys I would trust going over the middle.

he'll fit right in with Michael Irvin- the two will probably never shut up about how great they were

I just compiled this list for another forum I post in. But you guys should really check this out. Keyshawn really had a great career if you consider who was getting him the damn ball. This list of QB's he had is completely brutal.

Can anyone find a receiver with better career numbers than Keyshawn with a worse set of QB's? I dunno, it would be interesting.

Keyshawn's QBs:

Glenn Foley, Neil O'Donnell, Frank Reich, Rutgers Ray Lucas, Testaverde, Rick Mirer, Shaun King, Eric Zeier, Brad Johnson, Rob Johnson, Drew Henson, Drew Bledsoe, Delhomme, Chris Weinke

Keyshawn's big year in 1998 not surprisingly coincides with Vinny's big year in 1998 for the Jets.

Yea, he kind of struck out in the QB department. I liked the guy.

suprised he's not staying. 800+ yards last year. Double what Jerry Rice had in his last year.

I believe Irvin was let go, thank God.

Yes he would have stayed. He was going to mentor Dewayne Jarrett, as he said on the draft. He was a good physical reciever, his ego was too big.

I was really hoping the Patriots would take a shot at getting him. Keyshawn plays with a lot of heart (unlike Moss), wants to win (unlike Moss) and stays out of trouble off the field (unlike Moss). With Keyshawn the Pats would have a dependable WR who won't be in the Boston police station, unlike... well, you get the picture.

Best wishes to Keyshawn.

No, others already have that market cornered. "Keyshawn Mexico" has a good ring to it though.

I think Keyshawn could have played another year or two, but he got released at a bad time of year to find a new team. That being said, his personality probably influenced some teams to back off. He did have quite a few drops last year, too.

He's lost a couple steps since his early years. He's more of a split out TE than a WR. Actually when he first went to Carolina there was talk he'd play TE too.

Once injuries hit in preseason I could see some team trying to talk him out of retirement.

I seem to remember the first time that Ricky Williams retired, he could not return to the league for 1 year because he "filed his papers." If Keyshawn does this, he won't be able to return for 1 year I am pretty sure.

I remember griping when the Panthers acquired him. Now I'd like him to stick around.

Ironic, I guess.

Yeah, Ricky retired with time on his contract. The Panthers released Keyshawn. Big difference.

He turned down Tennessee's offers of $7-8 Million over two years...
