Welcome one and all to the 9th annual GreatAppSt countdown!! Yes it's that time again already. xnodx xnodx WOO HOO!!!:D While most others are still concerned and focusing themselves on spring blossoms, the return of warm weather, and the beaches, my eyes and heart are firmly affixed on Football season. The beginning of cool fall weather, outdoor food, drink, good spirits, ;-} gatherings and another Division I-FCS (the division formerly known as I-AA :D ) campaign is something myself and most of you who read this look forward too with enthusiasm.
The G.A.S. Countdown is NOT just the often used impersonal, automatic clock countdown. This countdown IS a work of passion for the enjoyment of others and myself. The G.A.S. countdown IS the often IMITATED but never duplicated ORIGINAL (like a Coney Island hot dog) build up to a new season of thrills, chills, and spills. Fun for ALL and all are welcomed along for the (like all Italian pizzeria's claim), Worlds Best Countdown.

1.) This is the G.A.S. Countdown.
2.) Only full 24 hr calendar days left before game time are counted.
3.) I countdown to the beginning what MY own heart is passionate and concerned with, the start of APPALACHIAN STATES FOOTBALL SEASON!!!
4.) Barring catastophic events the day will be posted this is my pledge. Please be patient it may be later in the evening before I have a chance to post and I'm an hour behind EST now that I'm in Texas.

How 'bout that WR coach Lonnie Galloway. My homeboy, my hs QB. It was bittersweet to beat up on him so bad during his Catamount days. I'm with ya GAS can't wait til Labor Day Weekend.

This may sound blasphemous, but I'm hardly getting excited for football season. My hobbies and politics, along with my j-o-b, are keeping me pretty busy. It's almost a week or two before the preview magazines hit the stands and I hadn't really noticed. Now, no wise cracks about Catamount football...........xthumbsupx

This may be the most important number for ASU football. If you will note 100% of the coaches are back after last season. I'm amazed at the loyalty, I know of two coaches that were offered jobs at deeper pocket BCS schools.
