Memphis, Boston and Milwaukee the 3 with the best odds get the 4,5 and 6th picks respectively.

The Suns get screwed again. ATL, which finished 4th, moves up in the lottery. So the Suns don't get ATL's pick until next year, and they will probably be better.

Celtics fan eh, Travis? :p

Really surprised to see Memphis drop to #5. And the Celtics.

Was praying Atlanta wouldn't get #1 or #2. xlolx

I didnt want #1 I wanted #2 I didnt want Oden I wanted Durant. Now I get neither and the Celtics will prolly trade the pick now.

Of course, some would argue that Boston and Milwaukee got what they deserved for Sp*ring at the end of the year.

I like the lottery. The NFL needs one.

I think the lottery makes the NBA more interesting and would like to see it in the NFL too. As for MLB, I'd like it if they could even trade draft picks.

Tonights result sucks for the Celtics and Grizzlies, but it is hard to say they gave 100% in every game down the stretch so I don't feel too bad for them.

And you cant prove they didnt either.

True, so very true. xsmhx

I guess I can't blame Ainge for this one.

And you cant prove they didnt either.

The lottery is there for a reason; teams purposely put their better players on the bench in order to lose games to get a better pick. They should not get automatically rewarded for that choice.

And no, you can't "prove" they tanked, but you can check a box score and see that they didn't play their best players nearly as much as they did earlier in the season when they were trying to win games.

Ainge said they were trying to evaluate younger players and different combinations for next season, but you can easily do that over the course of an 82 game season.

If Ainge and some other teams want to use their games solely as practice sessions or talent evaluation sessions and not worry about wins and losses, then they can't whine about not getting the best pick for having the worst record. xcoffeex

Second.

Edit: Brad Dougherty was first. Figured someone would ask.

What a terrible result for the NBA! Both players heading to the loaded Western Conference, and worse the Pacific Northwest where they can't start national games until 10 pm Est. Throw in SA's domination of Utah and it wasn't a good night for David Stern.

over there last 8 losses of the season covering the last 10 games, they lost by average of 5 points a game, if a team was purposely tanking they wouldnt leave the games that close.

With Memphis, as soon as they wrapped up top spot in the lottery, they won 3 straight Denver, Spurs and Minnesota by at least 10 points each.

Before that stretch they had lost 6 straight with only 2 being under 10 points.

The Celtics, Grizzlies and Bucks tanked the last half of the season and got what they deserved.

Excellent point! The way the Celtics season went they should have been giving tickets away for the last few home games. At the very least they could have sold them at discounted prices. I couldn't believe they were still charging full price for these glorified practice sessions with barely anybody in the stands.
