Polk was actually only 7th in the CAA in receiving yards. Better offenses, more passing, worse pass defenses, or a combination of the 3? CAA # of 1,000 yd receivers:
2019: 5 (and 2 more, including Polk, just under)
2018: 0
2017: 2
2016:1
2015: 1
2014: 3
2013: 4
2012: 2
2011: 1
2010: 0
2009: 0
2008: 2
2007: 3
2006: 1
2005: 1
2004: 4
2003: 1

Most years Polk would have been top 3 in receiving and a shoe in 1st team All CAA. But this was the best season for WR in the history of the league. VU's Changa Hodge, who had over 1,000 yds receiving, and a huge game vs JMU, got 3rd team All CAA. I agree, 2nd team wasn't a snub on Polk.

Coversely, was only 1 rusher over 1,000 yds, Mofar, the kid for Albany (had 1204). Without looking it up, I'm guessing most seasons were between 3 to 4. Percy was the 3rd leading rusher in the CAA, and got 1st team All CAA with 884 yds rushing. A lot of seasons with those #s he would have been 5th or 6th in the CAA, and 2nd or 3rd team. League wide passing was up, and rushing was down, for whatever reason

without looking it up, i don't recall JMU ever getting both Offensive and Defensive POY awards in the same season. Coach of the Year came down to Cignetti at JMU or Gattuso at Albany, but i have no issue with Gattuso winning. just depends on how you define that award. doing a lot with a little, or dominating the conference on a team with high expectations? Undercuffler was a no-brainer as Rookie of the Year.

Nice to see DiNucci get some recognition after the Payton snub.

I won’t argue DiNucci as he was the champion QB although I could make a case.

The Tom Flacco 2nd team selection is bogus. Daniel Smith has better CAA stats across the board plus Nova beat Towson & made the playoffs. Smith beat him in every stat category. In fact the case can be made that Jeff Undercuffler should have been ahead of Flacco. DiNucci-Smith-Undercuffler would have been the right order. xpeacex
