Hillary Melly remembers attending his first class at Stetson University three years ago. He sat in the front row, looked around, and did not see any familiar faces. The professor spoke, but every word passed him by. Melly had just come over to the United States from Kenya on a cross country scholarship, and his English skills were severely lacking.
