A big contest on the bayou this Saturday! Because McNeese is unranked and the Colonels (like most SLC teams this year) has been inconsistent, it doesn't have as much luster as some games in the past, but it is still important to both teams. Game time: 3 PM CST.

Series History:

McNeese won last year in Lake Charles 20-10.

• McNeese and Nicholls will be meeting for the 44th time on Saturday night as the Cowboys hold a 31-12 lead in the all-time series that began in 1972.
• The two teams have been playing every year since 1984.
• Nicholls won in Thibodaux in 2017 by a 37-35 score on a last second field goal. That game opened up the season for both teams on Thursday, Aug. 31.
• McNeese has won 9 of the last 10 meetings.
• 4 of the last 5 Colonels' wins are by a combined 7 points.

This is a toss-up on a neutral field. The only difference here is home field. So, I will pick the Colonels, but not with a lot of confidence. Should be a great game.

This should be a great match-up, but I give it to Nicholls with the home field. My biggest questions are around injuries on both sides by this point in time.
