How many miles did you travel last year?

Not sure if this thread was submitted in the past sorry is it was. I was wondering how many miles you traveled last year to watch your team play. I added up my miles and it came too approximately 12,400 miles. I was going to add up the money I spent on driving and plane tickets but I was afraid I might cry if I did. The miles are round trip.

Butte Montana;
to Iowa City, 4,200 miles
to Portland Oregon 1,400 miles
to Easter Washington 600 miles
to Weber State 700 miles
to Greely Colorado 1400 miles
to Missoula Montana x 9 home games 2200 miles

Iowa city was great, the fans were nice, I never seen a pre-game atmosphere like that at any other game before. Their new stadium was also very nice. The only time the stadium was quiet was when we scored, unfortunately that was only once.

That explains it! It jumped out at me so I went on Mapquest and saw it was significantly shorter. But that assumes one travels the shortest route!!! xlolx

That's the great thing about playing football in the mid-Atlantic/Northeast: minimal travel that can all be done by car. It's an embarrassment of riches.

Chicago to Lake Charles and back 3 times = 6600
Chicago to NSU = 2600
Chicago to Toledo = 600
Chicago to Mizzoula = 2600

Total Miles = 14,850

All trips are round trip and some include a little added driving besides my flight miles.

On the road for 8244 miles. If I averaged 60mph that comes to 137hrs 25mins, or an average of 19.6hrs of driving for each one of the seven (or almost a work week of time for every two) one hour games of football I attended. I must be stupid.:D

Yeah, that is one thing Iowa does better than pretty much anyone. Pre-game atmosphere and tailgating. And you should see what it is like when Iowa State, Ohio State, and Michigan come into Iowa City. Iowa City is like one giant tailgate.

There, I gave the Hawkeyes a compliment. I'm good for another year or two.

I'm too lazy to look up the miles but last year I made 9 of UCA's 11 games.

Drove from Little Rock to Conway for 5 home games;
Drove to away games at S. Dakota St., Stephen F. Austin;, and Ill State.
Flew to Ga. Southern.
Watched SHSU on TV and listened to Cal Davis on radio.

Plan on making them all this fall.

A buddy of mine from AppSt works in Hong Kong. Two years ago, he was at the Homecoming game and then at the National Championship game. One way trip from Hong Kong to Charlotte, NC is 8,379 miles as the crow flies. Two round-trips would total 33,516 miles. And that was just two games. xeekx

Approximately 3006 miles last year - I wouldn't trade a single one of them, either!


Assuming that I get 20 miles to the gallon (Car automatically calculates it), at $2.75 a gallon (reasonable guess), I spent $414 on gas alone to get to games last year. Of course, that doesn't include tickets, beer, food, beer, lodging or beer. Add all that up, and it was probably around $2-3K.
