After gambling on 4th down most of the season, it was a different gamble by Eastern Illinois head coach Adam Cushing that paid off. Trailing 38-35, EIU pulled off an onside kick with 5 seconds left in the third quarter and eventually cashed it in for a 42-38 lead with just over 10 minutes left to go in the game.
