Well, I am sure this wasn't done in a vacuum. When one's head is being yanked down and/or other body parts hit/grabbed, etc., one is likely to reach at the other's head and grab at whatever is there to create leverage. "It takes two to tango" and I'd like to see the whole video before condemning any one person.

What part, the part where Embiid went after KAT, the part where he tried to poke his eye out, or the part where Ben Simmons jumped on KAT's back and tried to choke him out?

Those in and around the Sixers tend to think Brown is trying to make the team into a modern day of version of the "Bad Boys". They have to the personnel to be a physical, in your face defensive team like those Piston's teams were. How far they want to push the envelope will be interesting to see.

This isn't the first time there have been eye pokes in a game between a Philadelphia team and a Minneapolis/St. Paul team in a major league pro sports event. Back in 1988, the Vikings' Bubba Baker poked the Eagles' Ron Heller in the eye during an Eagles/Vikings game at the Metrodome, causing Heller permanent eye problems.
