I'm always amazed how much emphasis Sox fans place on one game.
Oh, well, waiting for September when the rightful order of the universe manifests itself every year in the AL East. Till then, just biding my time :whistlex
Trivia: When was the last time the Boston Red Sox finished in first place after 162 games?
Answer: 1990.

Ah, silly Yankee. It doesn't matter where you finish after 162, as long as you are in teh top four of your league.
which of the two teams was the last to finish holding a World Series trophy? xlolx xlolx

They get to do it once every 86 years. It's like Haley's Comet. xlolx
And they wouldn't have had the chance except baseball -- to make a few bucks -- decided to let also rans into the playoffs.
Can you call yourself the "world champions" if you finish second?
And finally, what is this with this evil Dback/Sox alliance you guys have got going on? Can't a Yankee fan bust a Sox fan in peace?

Tim Wakefield continues to quietly be one of the top pitchers in baseball, ERA down to 1.79, lower than most major leaguers weights.

My oldest son is 3 right now - anyday now I'll get him a knuckle-ball pitching coach to see if he can start early and have it ready so that he too can have a major league career (and a good one at that) with little to no actual baseball talent. Wakefield is an inspiration to millions!! xthumbsupx

So a knuckleballer has no baseball talent? How bout the knuckleball. If it was easy to pitch most guys would learn it atleast as a 5th pitch because its so hard to hit when its "dancing" well.
He also throws a curveball.

Maybe it's too hard to do both - be a knuckleballer and a normal pitcher?
