Northern Iowa @ North Dakota St - I think it'll be an ugly win but a win nonetheless.

Western Illinois @ Indiana St - If last week is any indication the Trees have reverted to their 2017 form.

South Dakota @ Missouri St - A lot of points in this one but the Yotes are a bit better.

South Dakota St @ Youngstown St - SDSU's first real FCS test... their defense has been top notch so I see YSU having similar scoring issues they had last week in the UNI-dome.

Illinois St @ Southern Illinois - Time to see what the Redbirds are made of... I think they bounce back nicely.

WIU - Boyle was a major loss and Necks get a road win

USD - Yotes hold off Misery St. and get a road win

SDSU - saw this in preseason as a YSU loss and nothing has changed

ISUr - tossup but Redbirds normally have better talent than the Dawgs

Maybe, but Western is nearing program record-levels of bad. Will we pick up a win somewhere and equal 2009 levels of bad (won our opener, then lost 10 straight)...maybe...but this is currently our worst start in 52 years (when we lost our first 6 straight then finished out with 2 wins and ended up 2-6).

If we don't win this game, I think we're quite likely looking at our first winless season since 1944 (when we went 0-8).

At least WIU seems like they have some fight in them left. To not put up a point against USD's defense is pretty awfully bad for Indiana St. I think the Necks get in the W column this Saturday but, like you said, they better enjoy it because it might not happen again this season.

i was more disappointed with our defense. i only got to watch the first half but we kept having a few good defensive plays then give up something big. as far as Boyle being out, in the EIU game we went to one backup and then vs USD we went to another QB. he seemed to be nervously inaccurate. hopefully another week of practice will get us moving the ball. our veteran O-line needs to stop acting like veterans who are not good.

I'm pretty nervous about the WIU game. Forget about WIU, INST might not win another game if they lose this one. The Sycamores have been laughably bad so far. The win against EKU is looking less and less impressive.

Damn, I got cocky and tried to use the fact that ISUb had been blown out by USD as impetus for picking WIU, and that ISUr might have a Bison hangover when playing SIU (who is clearly worse than I originally thought), with the thought of trying to extend my lead. Both bit me in the a$$, so nothing but "safe" picks for week 8, if that is actually even a thing.
