I have a buddy who has season tickets. I turned down a chance to be there tonight- I'll probably talk to him tomorrow. Schools are already calling off.
Gophers blew a nine point lead late to Iowa and lost 76-74 on a three pointer with 8 seconds to go. That hurt.

Sorry, the final was 76-75. Iowa fouled the Gophers with no time to go. Made the first- missed the second.

weird explanation for the suspension.
really makes me wonder what she did,
and also whether a male athlete would face the same discipline if he were to do the same type thing
but likely we'll never know the details

Found out this morning that they blew a 15 point lead. They have not been a fourth quarter team at all.
There were twin players who also didn't make the trip to Illinois. I thought maybe they had done the same thing. Turns out they stayed home on their own- they didn't think that Pitts should have been suspended.
I don't think that these problems are going to go away anytime soon.

Not sure, but college hockey teams do things like this. I know that both the Gophers and the Mavs have these types of games, especially in a bye week or around New Years.

Interesting! I know college bball teams will play preseason/exhibition games against teams like this or even semi-pro squads. That's been going on for years. But in the middles of the season on national television? Never seen it!

Yah, the national TV thing is different. There aren't that many D1 women's hockey teams- only 41 and they just moved up a half a dozen D2 schools (there is no D2 NCAA tournament anymore for men or women). Plus the WCHA has only 7 teams for women now that UND dropped women's hockey so there is a bye for someone every weekend.
At least this is tied at half- unlike most UConn games. I'm watching the Gopher women drop another road game at Indiana. I thought this year would be a NCAA possibility- now they may not make the NIT.

Unless something comes out that I don't know about I think she stays. She is basically worshiped in this state. She hasn't been able to get her recruits going yet in her second year. Personally I think it was a big mistake for her to play WNBA last year when she had already signed up to be the coach. She needed to be with her players- I think she even missed the Italy trip. But she has at least another year.

Looks like Delaney-Smith will probably call it a career at the end of this season. Harvard's women may well be staying home no matter what... xsmhx that will end a quite long WNIT streak for the Crimson. We are currently on the outside of the Ivy Madness 4th seat.

Woke up early- drove 260 miles one way to Ames to watch Iowa State women upset #2 Baylor by a point on a free throw with one second to go. Needless to say, Kim Mulkey was furious.
